Tony Keeling has been appointed as Shell Energy Australia’s new Chief Executive Officer.
Tony replaces Greg Joiner, following Greg’s appointment as CEO of Shell Energy Europe.
Over the past 20 years Tony has built and led large customer-focused businesses, leading teams to navigate and deliver in complex and regulated markets. He brings deep understanding of the energy industry having spent the majority of his career in the sector, most recently as CEO Shell Energy Retail Europe.
Prior to joining Shell, Tony served for 10 years on the management board of SSE plc, a FTSE 30 vertically integrated energy business in the UK, focused on building and operating renewable generation, transmission and distribution networks, trading, energy solutions and retail. He has also been managing director of retail and energy solutions businesses, including several within the OVO Energy Group. Tony has also worked for the UK’s Health Security Agency Government on the response to COVID-19, been a non-executive director on boards of several companies in the clean tech and energy space and a management consultant at PwC.
Tony has a strong understanding of both residential and B2B energy markets and throughout his career has been committed to helping customers access the best energy solutions for their needs today while encouraging innovation and supporting them to navigate the energy transition.
Tony commenced his role with Shell Energy Australia in January 2024.
