Meet Kristie Bright

Senior Pricing Analyst

Kristie Bright, Senior Pricing Analyst, shares where she got her spark for energy and why collaboration is the cornerstone of a great culture.

What is your role at Shell Energy?

All things pricing! We work closely with the Wholesale Trading, Forecasting and Retail Sales teams to provide pricing to customers. To do this, we look at our customer’s energy use and expected use profile to ensure we have an accurate picture to provide them with a price that’s reflective of how they operate.

Why Shell Energy?

Whilst completing my bachelor’s degree, I undertook work experience at Arrow Energy and ended up staying at the company for three years. Working at Arrow exposed me to a variety of areas and provoked my interest in the industry. When I was looking for my next career move, I was very excited to come across Shell Energy (which at the time was known as ERM Power) and I am very happy to be part of this growing company!

What’s the best thing about working here?

It’s been said many times – the culture. In Retail (I’m biased, but obviously the best division within Shell Energy), we have great collaboration, which can help to streamline processes between teams and provide the best outcomes for our customers. It’s collaborative, innovative and fun – especially in my team!
The flexible working arrangement experience here at Shell Energy has been great. Having the option to work a couple of days from home is really helpful for work-life balance.

The keys to success at Shell Energy are…

Being a keen learner, accepting challenges and having a positive attitude.

What are the keys to success at Shell Energy?

I think there’s a real ethos at Shell Energy to try something new and to be a bit different. We understand that our diversity makes us stronger and we allow for all voices to be heard.

I’d say the key to success here, like many places, is to just get stuck in, be the change you want and create the path you choose.

I’m excited about the future of energy because…

It’s a really interesting industry to be a part of, especially right now with the move towards greener initiatives and reducing emissions. I am keen to see how Australia progresses with our targets and how this will reflect in our business.

What would you say to someone considering a career with Shell Energy?

Having worked at the company for almost seven years now, I would highly recommend jumping on board. We are a growing business, with great opportunity for progression in a leading corporate company. Also, on Fridays in the Brisbane office there is table tennis in the building lobby, so if that doesn’t excite you, I don’t know what will!
